Understanding CDC fertility report years
A report year and a retrieval cohort are different dates. The 2022 own-egg cumulative measure follows retrievals begun in 2021 and linked transfers within 12 months. Annual 2022 cycles and donor transfers describe activity during 2022.
Why earlier years are separate
The 2013–2016 reports publish fresh and frozen treatment measures separately. Later cumulative retrieval results have different follow-up and denominators. Native age bands and patient-mix definitions also change. This explorer preserves separate sections rather than splicing an attractive but invalid ten-year outcome line.
Why clinic names do not prove continuity
Reporting units can change names, combine offices, reorganize or receive a new ID. A missing link is recorded explicitly. Unmatched historical units remain in the native yearly directories; they are never silently assigned to a modern brand.
